Company history

Steve Gilchrist, after 30 years in the industry, founded Straight Up Marine with a focus on transparency in billing and a commitment to customer enjoyment on the water. He began his career as a commercial vessel operator in Texas, then moved to South Florida to work in the yachting industry as a corporate and yacht captain. This extensive experience, understanding what makes guests comfortable and uncomfortable, led to the creation of Straight Up Marine, prioritizing customers over the bottom line.

Steve secured a tenant location at Port 32 and became a dealer for every electronic manufacturer in the business. His experience in the stabilization market further solidified the foundation of Straight Up Marine. After multiple successful installations of various gyro stabilizer models, Steve focused on Dometic, a manufacturer crafting stabilizers with future-proof technology, ensuring customers enjoy their boats rather than constantly working on them.
